Rules Question

Q. A Ball at rest overhangs the lip of the hole. The player jumps close to the hole in hope of jarring the ground and causing the ball to fall into the hole. The ball doesn’t move. What is the ruling?

A. There is no penalty. Rule 1-2 doesn’t apply to a situation where the player takes an action that doesn’t result in a change in the position of a ball at rest. If the ball had moved, see Decision 1-2/4.

Golf Tip

To improve you’re putting, line up your putts using your dominant eye. To find your dominant eye, put a coin on the floor, and then make a circle with your thumb and index finger, and place the circle above the coin at waist level. Kook through the circle at the coin,  taking turns covering your left eye and right eye. The uncovered eye that causes the coin to move out of the circle is your dominant eye.
